I first met Cliff in 1982 at Christopher Road, East Grinstead, when I turned up at Bowater * Scott rather nerviously as a rooky salesman for an interview! Cliff greeted me at the bottom of the stairs and said "Ah Burlingham you come by personal recommendation, so no pressure just don`t cock it up!" Wise words from a true professional as what happened from that day has moulded my career for life. If Cliff hadn`t taken a chance on me, I wouldn`t be where I am today and for that I am and will be eternally grateful to him. A great man, who always gave people a chance and helped them on their way. Always in my memories, Martin Burlingham (former Scott Paper colleague...)
